Don't you just love to find a good farmers market? I do. I have been back in Kansas about three months now, and I had no idea that the largest farmers market in Kansas is a few blocks from where I now live in Overland Park. Open every Saturday from 6:30 a.m. till sellout and Wednesday from 7:30 a.m. till sellout, the Downtown Overland Park Farmers Market on Marty between 79th and 80th "is a thriving open air market offering produce, flowers, specialty foods and entertainment for the entire family," according to the Historic Downtown Overland Park website.
5 Make double Sweet and Sour Sauce. Use it one night to make Sweet and Sour Chicken Recipe and for a vegetarian option, make Baked Butternut with the same lamb curry in a hurry - this sounds unusual but is delicious.
I think we should have knock-down, drag-out chili cook-off. (My family can be quite competitive). The best cooker to use is of course a slow cooker lamb curry in slow cooker you tube. Add your favorite ingredients and turn on the cooker on "low" for 8 hours. The cooker will be on autopilot for the rest of the day.
Third, I love a good deal. I was able to get all of the produce that I needed for this coming week (and most likely a bit beyond) for less than $28 (see the accompanying photo). I will make a big pot of green beans and new potatoes, a big batch of Harvard beets (all of the beets in the photo came to $2), a peach-blueberry cobbler, my new basil zucchini tofu over curried lamb and rice, a tomato and cucumber salad and/or sandwich, a stirfry with tofu and the green bell peppers, a garnish of sliced radishes to go on my black bean soup with cornbread, and a skillet full of vegan corned beef and cabbage.
Both Len and I only ate about half of our curries and hardly made a dent in the bread. It was really delicious and we knew that this hadn't come out slow cooker lamb curry of a packet.
Not only with this, by using the turmeric powder in the cooking of any recipes provides us good health. If we use a spoon of lemon juice into soup items, it will add more flavor and taste too.
Now you just have to decide if you want to have them as they are in soup form, or if you want to mash them for refried. You could also just divided it in half and made both, you'll have quite a lot of beans with this recipe. For refried you can use potato masher , blender, or electric mixer to puree to smooth consistency. Butter or olive oil is also a nice addition at this point. These tasty refrieds are great for anything mexican, nachos, tostada, burrito, dip ect. Or you can just have beans and rice, especially tasty with my salt and pepper rice recipe. Just take your favorite rice and add plenty of salt, pepper, and butter and or olive oil, mix and serve. So cheap, so satisfying!
